meet the coach

Super abridged story: I’m Dave Brelinski and I’ve been in the fitness game for 25+ years. I earned a bachelors degree in exercise science while playing college baseball. Followed that up with a Doctorate of Chiropractic that I heavily focused on sport and human performance. I worked in clinical practice for two year but grew disheartened by the majority of patients who were unwilling to take care of themselves. I left the chiropractic profession to become a Trooper with a state police agency, doing so to have a positive impact on the community I worked for. Currently I’m working as what could be considered a strength and conditioning coach at the state police academy. I’ve trained 100’s of people in person and 1000’s remotely or with pen and paper program design. I have spent countless hours writing and perfecting logical, science-guided fitness training plans. It may very well be the thing I’m best at. My goal with Honest Work Fitness is to deliver training programs that are not just effective, but fun to follow. If it’s fun, you’re more likely to stick to it, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that fitness goals get achieved with consistency and effort are combined. This is where the Honest Work name came from: show up, put in an honest effort, and you’ll get results.

Membership FAQs

  • We have four programs to pick from that are based on goals and equipment. We have two strength and muscle programs and we have two all-purpose “functional” fitness programs.

The all-purpose programs (War Eagle & Workhorse), are all about strength, power, and conditioning with high intensity interval training (HIIT) and the occasional standard cardio. Uniquely, these plans will incorporate a large amount of muscle building. This is where we get the “walk the walk & look the part” slogan.

The strength and hypertrophy programs (Brickhouse & Hammer) are strictly about max strength and building muscle. There is no conditioning in these programs as it would only take away from your time spent training strength and building muscle.

If one of those aligns with your fitness goals, then take a look at the required equipment lists. See which one most closely matches the equipment you have.

If none of the programs meet your needs, shoot me an email at dave@ptwhiteboard.com and I’d be happy to refer you to another coach/training company or we can discuss a custom training plan for you.

For the full gym training plans (Brickhouse & War Eagle), you can better get away with not having everything on the equipment list.

If you're unsure, you can try a 7-day free trial that comes with every new membership. If it’s not going to work for your gym setup, you can cancel before the trial is over and you won’t be charged for the membership. All cancelations are done through TrainHeroic.
